Context clues
Context clues
Context clues are words or sentence that will help you identify the meaning of unfamiliar words. It can be a restatement of the word, a synonym, or an example of that word that will help you understand that word. It is usually placed after the unfamiliar word
It can help in the way that you hide the true meaning of the sentence, you don't say it directly. I think it is good to use to have some twist and for readers to have some mystery on their minds.

Connotation, denotation and idioms
Connotation, denotation, and idioms
We already discussed connotation and denotation when we are in high school. And I learned that denotation are words that the meaning can be easily give or in literal meaning. While connotation are words that needs a dictionary to define briefly.
And as we discussed now, Denotation- other meaning of a word. Connotation- translation of sign to it's meaning.
Idioms are words put together but it is not by one-by-one meaning. I love to study idioms and also to use them. Because I am not directly saying what I mean to say. Ex: feeling blue- meaning feeling sad.
